The game features realistic violence towards human-like characters. Players can use both melee weapons like hammers, axes, picks and ranged weapons like javelins and guns against zombie enemies. There is often a small blood effect when zombies are struck, and they may also flinch and clutch their heads. When the zombies are struck several times, they will rag doll to the ground, where their bodies remain for a while before suddenly disappearing. Players may also use these weapons to hunt small animals, which fall down with a blood splatter.
