Violence during the game play itself is fairly mild with players repeatedly attacking their enemies, using physical and magical weapons, causing no realistic physical response. Damage is depicted through life bars while blood and injuries are not shown. Violence during cut scenes however, while still not depicting blood or graphic injuries, is shown in greater detail with a more realistic human response which directly contributes to the age rating.
