In the Evil Within, you play as Detective Seb Castellanos who is ambushed and knocked unconscious while investigating a mass murder, only to awaken to a deranged world of hideous creatures. The Assignment DLC is the first of a two-part story centred on Castellanos’ partner, Juli Kidman.

Rating issues

The most extreme violence in the main game is where the protagonist is decapitated with a chainsaw. In the DLC, Detective Kidman has to avoid contorted monsters with bulbous growths all over their bodies. Should she get too close, these growths will engulf her and explode, dismembering her in a bloody and graphic manner. Kidman can also use a pistol to shoot at or the heel of her boots to stamp on the head of zombie-like enemies, causing their heads to explode.

The game features use of the word ‘fuck’.
