Rating issues

Any frequent violence is non-realistic, with Sonic and friends losing rings when hit and disappearing when killed, while their robot enemies fall apart and disappear in a flash. Boss fights are accompanied by bright flashes and fast paced action. The majority of characters are fantasy characters, though there is an appearance from the more human Doctor Eggman, who is largely unresponsive to violence, save the stars around his head.

In certain levels, large mechanical squid-like enemies may be frightening for small children, while the main serpentine enemy, Lyric, has a more menacing, though still cartoonish, persona. The same can be said for some of the settings, which have a forbidding quality about them.
