Combat involves the use of swords, axes, magic spells and fire. When hit by a bladed weapon a character (human and fantasy) will recoil, however more often than not death is not instantaneous and can involve a number of strikes before that objective is achieved. Each strike to the body will cause blood splatters to be seen.

There are instances during gameplay when a human character will die after just one or two strikes. An example would be when a character is hit in the chest with a large axe, the character will be seen to fall backwards, blood splatters appear and the body falls to the ground. Consequently the violence is deemed to be realistic looking.

If struck by fire, the character will be set ablaze however, it will continue to run around and fight. The character does not visibly suffer any ill effects from the flames which disappear after a short period of time.
