The game follows Professor Layton, Luke Triton, Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey as they attempt to solve the mystery of the Labyrinth City. The game has two main styles of gameplay, Puzzle and Trial, which feature elements from the Professor Layton and Ace Attorney series respectively.

Rating issues

The game utilises cinematic scenes to move the narrative forward, within one of these there is the use realistic violence of a minor nature. Whilst travelling on an aircraft a character places eye shades and an oxygen mask onto his face. These are then pulled away from his face, by another character, and then released causing them to hit the character’s face. No obvious injury or harm. The game also features a sword fight between Professor Layton and a number of statues (Knights) that are brought to life. When hit by a sword, a flash of light appears and the Knight falls to the ground.
