Visually updated remake of the Nintendo 3DS adventure, from 2013, in which Luigi explores a series of spooky mansions to recover the scattered shards of a magical crystal. There is also a multiplayer ‘Scarescraper’ mode for up to four players.

Rating issues

This game features mild violence. Ghosts will try to hit Luigi with punches and objects, or special spectral attacks. Luigi falls down and briefly flashes red when hit. Bosses often need to be damaged with simple attacks and ghosts must be captured. The cartoon-like visuals help make the violence less disturbing.

The game often puts the player in eerie settings and tense situations. Ghost are invisible and will try to scare the player. Luigi is visibly and audibly scared and some of the bosses are disturbing and likely to scare very young children.
