Rating issues
This game contains depictions of graphic violence including dismemberment. Certain characters are able to use weapons to decapitate characters. Large sprays of blood are seen when this happens and at times the severed head of the corpse is seen to remain on the ground for a few seconds before disappearing. Most of the violence features arcade-style action with blood and gore. When zombies are killed, large splashes of blood are seen before the zombie explodes, with chunks of flesh seen, after which it disappears completely.
This game also contains use of strong language, including ‘fuck’. Milder bad language includes ‘bitch’, ‘shit’, ‘pussy’, ‘dick’ and ‘asshole’.
Other issues
This game also features strong gory images. In the hub of the game is a ‘museum’ in which players are able to look at props from the associated film and TV series. In the ‘Halloween’ section, the player will see an item which is made from the remains of a dog featuring bones and gory detail. During gameplay, there is a moment when the player will be approached by a character whose head has been removed. Blood is seen spraying from the neck of the body.
The game contains references to, and images of, alcohol. Each character in the game receives different ‘health boosters’. When the player takes on the role of Ash, his health booster is a cocktail which will restore life. At no point in the game does the player see anyone consuming alcohol.
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of additional characters which will be available for purchase, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
