Violence is realistic but occurs within a sporting context. During normal gameplay, players can push, shove and slam each other into the fencing. Players are also permitted to have short fist fights, before being sent off for a period of time. There is never any sight of blood and any injury detail is limited to bruising.
Other issues
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of Packs, using either Coins or NHL Points. Coins are earned through gameplay, progression, and rewards. Coins cannot be bought using real money. By contrast, NHL Points are purchased using real money through first party stores. NHL Points can only be used to open packs in the HUT Store and cannot be used for any other in-game features or progression. Packs contain a randomized assortment of items, including player items, coach items, team items, collectibles, and customization items, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers, or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
The game includes use of the very mild terms ‘crappy’ and ‘jerk’. While some music tracks feature strong language in their original versions, any strong language has been removed.
