Rating issues
Much of the violence during gameplay consists of turn-based battles between monsters. Damage is shown using numbers and results in a loss of health, with characters disappearing when defeated. However, there is also a contest in which human characters engage in hand-to-hand combat, in what is called a ‘Festival of Fisticuffs’. The violence here is non-realistic looking, with exaggerated reactions and damage shown as a number value, with no blood effects. There are also some scenes of violence during cutscenes, including a human character being kicked and falling over, although the impact itself is not shown, and a fantasy character attacking a human character with a scythe, although there is no blood and the reaction is exaggerated.

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, including two additional dungeons and the ability to open a magic treasure chest once an hour and receive a free gift. The items in this chest are not randomised in nature. Instead, the player works through a list of prizes over time, in order. The prizes include supplies that can be used to scout for monsters more easily. The three paid items of DLC also come with additional costumes. There is a link to the Nintendo eShop, in-game, to purchase these DLC items, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
