The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

Point-and-click adventure in which characters from the Sonic franchise celebrate Amy’s birthday by playing a murder mystery game on a train. Players must help the characters solve the ‘murder’ by collecting evidence and questioning suspects.

Rating issues

A character is seen on the ground, unconscious, after an attack with a poisonous dart. No characters actually die. A mini-game features Sonic avoiding hazards such as spikes and gaps. These cause him to blink or fall down, after which the game restarts.

Other issues

One of the train carriages is a ‘casino car’ featuring poker tables and slot machines. While players can agree to ‘play’ the slots in text dialogue, no gambling is visually depicted and the rules of the games are not explained. There is no actual betting.

There is use of extremely mild terms, such as ‘dang’, ‘dangit’ and ‘heck’.
