Characters can be attacked using swords or magic spells. When struck, characters flinch and lose points. Characters move, look and react as if they are made out of paper and the animations and reactions are not very realistic.

The game includes various horror adversaries, such as skeletons, zombies and demons. These characters may be scary to younger children, particularly during the more intense boss fights.
