Side-scrolling arcade shooter, an instalment in the 30 year old Japanese ‘Cotton’ series, in which players take on the roles of young witches who must fight through several stages and defeat bosses on a quest to save the world.

Rating issues

There is constant fast-paced combat between human-like and fantasy characters, with each level ending in a boss fight. When enemies are hit, they blink. They disappear when defeated, often after a large explosion or puff of smoke is shown. When the player’s character is hit, she blinks. When defeated, she flies off screen.

The game also contains some cinematic scenes in which a witch is seen shaking a fairy in her fist, but the fairy is not harmed and her eyes just roll.

Other issues

A fairy wears a bikini but never appears in a sexual context.
