Hobo: Tough Life

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features use of strong language, use of illegal drugs and prominent use of alcohol and tobacco. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.
Urban survival game in which players take on the role of a homeless person who is struggling to survive on the streets in the aftermath of political turmoil. Players can work alone or team up with others to scavenge, steal and do what it takes to make it through the coming winter.

Rating issues

The player’s character can trade or consume alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs. The use or trade of the substances can provide a benefit to the character’s statistics, although the damaging and addictive effects of drug misuse are also shown.

The game also includes use of strong language (frequent use of ‘fuck’ and infrequent use of ‘cunt’).

Other issues

The game includes some violence, mainly when the player’s character is being robbed or attacked. The player can fight back using using fists or improvised weapons, such as a wrench. However, the violence is not presented in a realistic fashion.

Players are required to commit crimes, in a survival context, including delivering packages for criminals, which it is implied contain illegal drugs.
