Star Wars: Squadrons is a space combat game that blends simulation and action. The player creates and controls two pilots, one on each side of the war. The gameplay is mainly first-person with some cutscenes presenting third-person views.

Other issues

Space ships fire lasers at each other. When they are damaged, they smoke and spark. When they are defeated, they explode into large fireballs leaving behind debris. However, no injury is shown to the pilots inside.
