Kwaidan is a Japanese ghost story game set in the 1930’s.
In the manor of Azuma, an ancient Yoki demon has broken free of the shrine binding it and is now terrorizing the villagers. It is up to you to explore the manor, solving the puzzles and defeating the Yoki before doing battle with the great demon.

Rating issues

Violence predominantly consists of encounters between you and a variety of fantasy demons that roam the village freely. You slash at them with your naginata, causing a bright flash before the defeated yoki disappear.
However, there is a cinematic in which a bully restrains one boy while another knocks him to the ground with a punch to the face. When another boy intervenes, he is also restrained and punched, and then kicked in the face, leaving a red wound across his eye.

Other issues

The game also contains infrequent use of mild swearing including the word ‘shit’.
