This game is rated PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for anyone below this age. This rating has been given due to depictions of gross violence towards human-like characters and use of sexual expletives. Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age.
The last surviving member of the Umbra Witches, Bayonetta, was sealed away in a magical coffin to protect her from the remaining Lumen Sage. In present time she is released but does not remember anything about her past, save that she is a witch and must kill angels or be sent to hell. As the game progresses, Bayonetta learns more about her past.

Rating issues

Bayonetta contains a lot of sustained violence with blood & gore, lots of gross violence – bodies exploding/ripped apart – a monster eating human like characters, – a human like character being decapitated in guillotine/squashed in spike machine – the head being pulled off an obviously naked woman and a urinating mannequin, the penis of which is visible.
