Violence consists of predominantly hack and slash gameplay as you travel across the platforms, smiting the hordes of monsters and titanic bosses. General attacks result in little physical response from the enemies other than bright flashes and blood spatters, however, you can use devastating combos and brutal executions to rip your foes limb from limb before they disappear into the earth.
Violence also occurs in cut scenes such as a woman sacrificing herself to create your sword, by plunging a statue into her breast, the statue becomes the weapon, and another scene where a man drives the sword into his own stomach while sitting on a throne. Both scenes result in the person becoming statues themselves.
