Rating issues

This game contains infrequent depictions of gross violence towards human-like characters. Some scenes show characters being decapitated and dismembered with very strong blood and gore effects. This game also features infrequent depictions of violence against defenceless human-like characters. This violence takes place against characters who are restrained and not able to escape. The violence that takes place in these scenes also feature strong blood and gore effects. This game also contains frequent use of sexual expletives, the word “fuck” and its derivatives are found throughout, and the word “cunt” can also be found in the dialogue.

Other issues

One of the major components of this well-established series is the way in which it subverts and satirises modern American social mores and issues. This game is no exception and one aspect of the game play centres around the contemporary issue of police brutality towards African-Americans. The game offers a character creation facility which allows the player to create darker-skinned characters which will result in the police acting with increased hostility towards and even attacking such characters. There are further references such as a mission in which the player enters a police station and sees the cells filled with African-Americans and the police using racial slurs. Some players may find this element within the game distasteful or even offensive.
