All violence and combat is comical and non-realistic, with over-the-top, cartoonish reactions from characters when they are hit. For example, Roman soldiers bounce, stretch and fly high into the air, disappearing off screen. When stunned, soldiers are shown with stars circling their heads and can be picked up and used to strike other soldiers. There is no injury detail. Boss fights involve defeating a large piece of Roman machinery.
There are scenes in which characters fight animals, such as tigers with iron claws, although the animals fly off screen when defeated with no sign of injury. Players can also hunt boars. When the pigs are hit, they make an ‘oink’ noise and drop a piece of meat, with the animal simply disappearing.
The player’s health is indicated by three wooden shields representing lives. When the player runs out of lives, he falls onto his back with his eyes closed and his arms spread wide. The screen then fades to black and you are asked if you want to continue.

While there is sight of a village on fire, there is no suggestion any people are hurt.
