Set in the Kingdom of Arls, a small region situated north of the Arland republic, a treaty is set to merge the two lands. The young princess of Arls, Meruru, is dazzled by the power of alchemy and wishes to use it to help her country prosper… so sets off on the path of alchemy.

Violence consists of turn based battle sequences in which no injuries are shown. Language includes the word ‘damn’, ‘piss’ and ‘hell’. Scenes of sexual innuendo can be found and usually include an intoxicated character called Tiffani, who often tries to grope and makes lewd comments to the other characters, despite their protests.
