During the course of the game Batman will encounter prisoners who have been released from their cells by the Joker and are armed with a variety of weapons (firearms, metal pipes etc.) and other characters that have become mutated. Violence is regarded as moderate and Batman utilises mostly martial arts type techniques to subdue attacking prisoners, or employing the ‘Batarang’ or ‘Bat Claw’. Enemies armed with lead pipes can block attacks, but their own weapons can be taken from and used against them. Prisoners are also equipped with firearms, which can kill Batman. All violence is determined to be moderate in its severity and effect on characters.
