This game has received a PEGI 7 because it features violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures, non-realistic looking violence towards characters which although human are not very detailed and pictures or sounds likely to be scary to young children. Not suitable for persons under 7 of age.
Dandara is a 2D platformer and Metroidvania game. Players take control of the eponymous protagonist who traverses the game’s world by warping between white surfaces. The game is based on the Brazilian figure Dandara.

Rating issues

The graphics are 16-bit pixel style. Most of the violence that is shown on screen is versus fantasy characters. The violence is unrealistic. Characters can be shot multiple times without a clear reaction to the action. When hit, a flash or shrug can be expected, but no screams or other sounds. When defeated the characters disappear in a stylized explosion.

The human-like characters are non-detailed because of the pixelated graphics. Your own character has a health bar which is drained when hit. There is no emphasis on any pain or suffering.

The DLC adds a scary boss that can be frightening to younger children.
