Remastered version of the 2006 action horror game in which players take on the role of Frank West, a freelance photojournalist, who investigates a zombie outbreak at a shopping mall.

Rating issues

This game features graphic violence towards human-like characters. Depending on the weaponry used, players can dismember and decapitate zombies. Heavy blood effects are present. The game also features examples of violence towards vulnerable and defenceless human characters. Both cutscenes and gameplay contain sequences in which multiple defenceless characters are killed and eaten by zombies, including an elderly woman.

Other issues

The game also contains depictions of suicide, as well as use of bad language, including ‘shit’, ‘piss’, ‘pussy’, ‘whore’ and ‘bitch’.

This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of costumes and music tracks, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
