Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories is a 3D survival action-adventure game that pulls the player into a realistic depiction of a major disaster occurring in a modern Japanese city. The player is tasked with making choices that affect the outcome of their life and the lives of other survivors.

Rating issues

During a search of a building the player’s character and companion encounters two inebriated male characters, this meeting quickly deteriorates with salacious comments from the drunken characters towards a female character. The player’s character and companion are then tied up and this is followed by threats of sexual violence which continues for approximately 3 minutes, this scene is interspersed with black screens that contain text only descriptions. Although the audio language is in Japanese, the text is in English and the manner and inflections of the antagonists voice add to the gravitas of the situation and it is clear what the intention of the characters towards the female are.
