The game begins on a snow-bound island, which is regularly beset by angry demons. According to an ancient custom, a maiden is sacrificed to appease the demons. The demons grow restless once again, and the girl Setsuna is chosen as the sacrifice. Rating issues

A battle is invoked by walking in the vicinity of a hostile character. You are drawn to them when the fight starts. That particular part of the level will become the battle arena. The way the violence is displayed is what you could expect from a 90s isometric JRPG. Characters flinch back when hit. There are a lot of bright flashes and other grand attack animations. There are no wounds, blood or other effects visible that derived from an attack.
The game features boss battles. While these bosses could be disturbing, they do not warrant a PEGI Fear content descriptor.

Other issues

At the end of the game, you have the option to kill an important character. When you choose to do this, the camera pans up. When everything is out of frame, you hear a sound effect of a slashing sword. This execution is not displayed on screen, only implied.
