In Just Shapes & Beats, you are a geometrical shape moving around the screen avoiding pink shapes that are appearing based on the beat of the music. It is a new spin the ‘shmup’ genre where you don’t shoot, you avoid taking damage. It can be played up to 4 players locally or online, with various modes.

Rating issues

There is a Story mode containing a scene with a rampaging monster, who violently attacks some fantasy characters. This monster has an aggressive demeanour and the action becomes quite hectic at times.

Other issues

The main antagonist can come across as scary to younger children.
