This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features frequent scenes of bloody violence in an arcade setting and use of strong language. Not appropriate for persons below 16 years of age.
Mark of the Ninja consists of stealth-oriented 2D platforming. The character is required to sneak through a series of environments while staying out of sight of guards and performing silent assassinations.

Rating issues

2D arcade style fighting with blood spray effects when an enemy is killed, often the sword is stuck through the body of the enemy. The game also contains use of the word ‘fuck’

Other issues

There is also a cutscene in which a man’s hand which has been cut off is seen flying through the air, the severing of the hand is not seen. It does not appear gross as the ends of the limbs are just block red with no detail – very cartoon like.
The game features scenes of smoking which are presented as a neutral activity.
