Rating issues
This game features strong violence, involving the use of a variety of realistic weapons, including swords, spears, axes, bows and muskets, but also magical weapons. When human characters are struck, they make pained sounds and blood effects are used to indicate damage. Human characters fall to the ground once their health is depleted.
Other issues
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of clothing, armour, weapon skins, character animation emotes, and personal housing customization. New World has an in-client store which is accessible from the main menus. Players can spend real world money on in-game currency, and then use that in-game currency to unlock a range of customizable options. There are revolving featured products, time limited offers, and bundles available for purchase with in-game currency as well, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers, or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
The game also includes use of bad language (‘bastard’ and ‘piss’).
