Owlboy is a pixelated 2d platformer with RPG like elements. Owlboy is set in the land of the sky; the islands of the world below have been separated by a catastrophic event. The player controls a boy named Otus, who is a member of an owl–human hybrid race called the Owls. When Otus’ village is attacked by a band of pirates, he sets out on a journey to save it from them.

Rating issues

Gameplay boils down to puzzling and moving from area to area in platform style fashion. Most levels end with a boss fight; some of which are quite hefty and high in intensity (e.g. fights with a giant serpent, being chased by a giant mutant frog.) Violence is generally directed towards fantastical beings even though there are some battles involving cartoony human characters. There is generally no injury detail or pain and suffering present in the violence.
