Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features strong and sustained depictions of violence, including graphic violence to fantasy characters, as well as use of strong language and prominent use of alcohol. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age.
Turn-based role-playing game, which is a sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, set in a dark fantasy world in which demons are able to access to world of mortals, leading to a series of wars.

Rating issues

This game features strong violence in which the player’s character and companions battle against a variety of human and fantasy adversaries using conventional hand-held weapons, such as crossbows, flails and swords, as well as magical armaments. When hit by a traditional weapon human characters do not show a realistic response but there are large amounts of blood and occasionally the character falls apart Each hit reduces the character’s health gauge until it expires, at which point the character falls to the ground. This is all seen from a distance with no close-up shots. There are more graphic moments of violence towards fantasy characters, including decapitations seen in cutscenes.

The game also features use of strong language (‘fuck’), as well as occasions on which the player’s character and others can drink alcohol.

Other issues

It is possible for a team member to end her life, if this is not prevented by the player’s character. There is also sight of cult members sacrificing themselves, as part of a ritual, as well as written reference to acts of ‘depravity’ in on-screen text.
