PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness

The game was rated PEGI 12 for sexual innuendo and the use of offensive language. Not appropriate for persons below 12 years of age.
The story’s backdrop is a dystopian future Tokyo where people can be pre-emptively imprisoned for their propensity to commit crimes based on a technology-enabled personality scan called a Psycho-Pass. This measures two elements; a person’s stress level and a numerical value that represents a person’s criminal capacity. This number determines whether an individual requires enforcement by the detectives of the Public Safety Bureau.

Rating issues

Game contains the frequent use of mild swearing and offensive language such as: ‘shit’, ‘bastard’, ‘crap’ and ‘asshole’. There are instances of sexual innuendo, examples are where a female is sat on a bed talking to a male, she says “since you helped me with all of this, how about I reward you tonight” and two characters discussing whether or not to engage in sexual intercourse.

Other issues

Part of the story deals with child abuse and the ‘Public Safety Bureau’ investigation commences with a text description of the injuries to the child.

Text dialogue includes observations by Detectives of the Public Safety Bureau about the abuse of fictional legal medication/drugs, by characters in the game.
