The great majority of the violence is conducted against fantasy characters of varying size, using either a bladed weapon or firearm. Dependant on its size, when a character is hit it will either be killed in a relatively short time or if a ‘Boss’ it will take considerably more hits to achieve its death. Damage to a character is shown via a health bar, when this has expired it will fall to the ground and disappear. All of the antagonists in the game carry a weapon, bladed or projectile firing, that can be used against the player’s character and team members, when hit the character will grunt and recoil from the effects but will continue to fight, the violence is realistic-looking. There are no blood effects and when the player’s character dies the game will restart from the last checkpoint.
