The game is predominantly set locations such as a house where a murder was committed and a hospital with an insane asylum and morgue. The player must walk around these places, often in the dark, looking for clues to his patients past. There are frequent jump scares throughout, often preceded by loud sounds and visual changes to the location which serve to fill the player with apprehension and an increased sense of dread.
