Rivals of Aether is a multiplayer battle game in a fantastical setting. All fighters look like anthropomorphic animals. Action takes place on platforms seen from a distant 2-d perspective. The goal is to knock an opponent off the platforms and out of bounds. This can be accomplished by applying damage on foes. The more damage they sustain the more likely it becomes players will land a critical hit that sends enemies hurtling off screen.
