The player’s character ‘Sasha’ is first encountered when, in the first person view, she looks into a mirror. She is seen clutching her left arm above the elbow, all of the arm below that is missing. The severed area and part of her clothing is covered in blood with tendons/muscle hanging from the wound. Other horror effects include an image in which a character is seen entangled in the branches of a tree, some of which have entered and exited the body.

Training for the combat elements in the game consists of attacking a semi-static image of a human character, wearing lookalike ‘Japanese’ Samurai clothing, using a sword. The player is instructed to swipe across the controller in order to create a sword slash across the body of the character, this will cause exaggerated blood effects to be produced. The character flinches ever so slightly in response, but does not show any other reaction.

All enemies encountered in the game are fantasy characters and are presented as stylised images some of which are identifiable as birds others less so. Each successful attack is signified by a slash effect across the body of the character, once sufficient damaged has been done, the character will disappear or an ability is made available with which the player can sever designated parts of the fantasy character’s body. The severance of body parts is accompanied by large splashes of blood effects.
