Styx: Master of Shadows is a stealth game where the player must keep to the shadows to survive. Styx has arcane abilities that assist him in his escapades, including the ability to make himself invisible, and the ability to use amber vision to detect hidden foes and areas.

Violence consists mainly of your goblin character sneaking up on his human captors and stabbing them with his knife, snapping their necks, or smashing their faces into the floor. Blood is shown in good detail along with visible injuries on the many corpses lying around. Mild to strong language is frequently heard throughout the game and often includes the word ‘fuck’.
