Rating issues

This game contains depictions of violence towards vulnerable human-like characters. You take control of Chris who is a 10-year-old boy living with his abusive father. Throughout the game you see the father get drunk and become physically and verbally abusive towards his son. Most of the physical violence is implied, such as the bruises which are visible on Chris’ arm. However, there is a pertinent scene in which the father aggressively grabs hold of his sons arm and shoves him away while shouting abuse towards him. This game also contains use of sexual expletives. The word “fuck” and its derivatives can be found throughout.

Other issues

This game also contains a section where the player has an option to steal and smoke one of Chris’ father’s cigarettes. This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of an upsell link to purchase Life is Strange 2 which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
