Rating issues

There is strong and realistic-looking violence towards both human and animal characters. For example, one character is held by his throat and then thrown, after which he is seen to have been impaled. Large amounts of blood are visible around the wound before the character dies. In another scene, there is sight of a character holding their stomach, in the aftermath of a stabbing, with large amounts of blood over their body and hands. Violence towards animals is similar, including a bat hitting the front of a car and becoming trapped underneath the windscreen wipers, resulting in blood being smeared across the window screen. The game is told via storyboard format and is heavily pixelated in visual style.

There is also use of strong language (‘fuck’) as well as milder terms including ‘bitch’, ‘shit’, ‘pussy’ and ‘pissed’.

Other issues

This collection also features references to the use of tobacco or alcohol. There are several scenes in which the player’s character is seen using these substances. Although the player is not able to actively choose to use the products, the game insists that the player takes part in these activities, with text including lines such as “You light a cigarette” and “Alcohol helped you sometimes. It made you forget”.

During gameplay, there are certain points where the player is prompted to choose between two options. If the player makes the wrong choice, the game shows an image of implied death to the player, e.g. a car is seen upside down and on fire. At this point, the game asks the player if they wish to retry or quit. When retrying, the game will take the player back to the last save point before they died.

There are references to suicide and self-harm although no sight of this.
