As the hero of Toukiden 2 the player takes control of a warrior character known as a “slayer” who fought in the Twilight Yokohama Defensive War. In the midst of battle, he leapt forward 10 years and washed ashore in a village, leaving his memory behind.

This game features infrequent depictions of realistic looking violence towards human-like characters. The realistic violence only takes place during cutscenes. During one scene a woman jumps in front of a bullet to protect her ally. Blood is shown coming out of the wound and onto her clothes. In another scene a woman is stabbed through the side. When you next see her, blood is shown dripping onto the floor as she clutches the wound.
