Twisted Metal: Black is a demolition derby that permits the usage of ballistic projectiles. Players choose a vehicle and an arena—or a series of arenas in the story mode—to engage in battle with opposing drivers. A variety of weapons and upgrades are obtainable by pick-ups scattered throughout the stage. The objective of the game is to be the last one standing.

Rating issues

Game involves driving vehicles equipped with a variety of weapons which are used to damage / destroy opposition vehicles. On occasions it is possible, due to a missile exploding, to cause a character to be reduced to indeterminate chunks, which disappear after a short period of time. Although this game is primarily concerned with vehicles battling other vehicles, it is possible to run down characters that populate the playing area, however they are not regarded as innocent pedestrians.
