The base game Prey features depictions of gross violence towards human-like characters. The player can shoot possessed human characters in the head causing their heads to explode with strong blood and gore shown.

The violence in Typhon Hunter is predominantly non-realistic looking towards fantasy characters (Mimics). When either shot or hit with a wrench the effects are the same, a rapid reduction in the health of a Mimic. This is quickly followed by it disintegrating and disappearing. This is seen in the first person

When the player’s character, who is a human and wearing a ‘spacesuit and helmet’, is attacked by a Mimic it will focus its attack on the player’s upper body with its long legs/tentacles wrapping around the head and shoulders. This is viewed in the 3rd person and the player’s character can be seen to struggle violently and emits cries of exertion and pain.
