There are frequent scenes in the game where the player is able to purchase alcoholic beverages from various traders. These beverages appear in the players inventory and come with small descriptions of the bonuses that consuming them will give to the player such as boosts to health, armour and other status effects.
While the game does not visually depict the player consuming these items, drinking and swallowing sound effects are heard along with a confirmation that the status bonus has been applied to the players character. A number of these statuses assist the player in progressing further in the game.
