WWE 2K19 is the newest instalment of the annual fighting simulation game franchise based on the WWE, featuring an expansive roster of over 100 male and female WWE Superstars and WWE Legends. Players fight as a chosen Superstar to defeat their opponents under various match rules.

Rating issues

As in televised WWE and previous WWE games, players engage in both unarmed (punching, throwing, slamming, kicking, stomping or elbowing) and armed with a baseball bat, or steel chair violence with their opponents. Violence is met with varying realistic reactions and characters may also become bruised and bloody after sustained beatings. Live action footage of WWE events is also included.

Other issues

The game song lyrics feature use of the word ‘bitch’, alcohol and drug references (not encouragement of the use) and sexual innuendo.
Some of the players’ entrances could be considered sexual posturing.
