Combat forms a large part of gameplay. However, the violence is cartoon-like and slapstick in nature. Enemies are knocked down in a comical fashion and are not visibly injured. For example, they may be seen sitting down with stars circling their heads or appear confused when a hat is pulled down over their eyes. If Zorro is hit, he loses some health points. When defeated, he throws a smoke bomb onto the ground, disappearing with a yell of “Adios!” and a promise that “Zorro will return”.
